October 10, 2016
Chicago’s newest Mariano’s grocery store opened in October 2016 in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago. The new store is located at the intersection of 39th Street and Martin Luther King Drive.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and other city leaders were on hand for the ribbon cutting.
Mariano’s says the new 74,000 square foot store fits in with the architectural feel in Bronzeville. The store was built on land formerly owned by the CHA and which had sat idle and vacant for years.
The project is expected to created over 200 construction jobs and more than 400 permanent jobs.

Power Women!
November 19, 2014
Bisnow was thrilled to celebrate the top 50 women in Chicago commercial real estate last night with 400 friends, supporters and sponsors at Trump International Hotel and Tower.
Bisnow’s Power Women are boundary-pushing trailblazers, changing the built environment and the commercial real estate industry. They are also leaders and role models who are inspiring and nurturing the next generation (many of whom joined us for great networking and to rub shoulders with the movers and shakers).
The event was the culmination of our seven-part series of profiles, telling the stories of these extraordinary women and their rise to their positions of influence.
Wendy Berger was honored for her latest triumphs building food manufacturing and distribution facilities include a state-of-the-art pizza distribution center in Romeoville and the LEED Platinum Testa Produce building in the city.
